About Franklin Funding

El Paso's commercial finance brokerage — connecting business owners with the right lenders since day one.

Important: Franklin Funding is a commercial finance broker — not a bank, direct lender, or SBA intermediary. We do not make lending decisions or hold funds. We connect business owners with lenders and programs that fit their situation.

Who We Are

Franklin Funding is a commercial finance brokerage based in El Paso, Texas. We serve small and mid-sized businesses across the Paso del Norte region — El Paso, the Lower Valley, the West Side, Fort Bliss communities, and the agricultural towns of Fabens and Tornillo — as well as businesses in the Santa Teresa and southern New Mexico corridor.

El Paso is a unique market. It is the largest U.S.-Mexico border metroplex in the world, home to one of the largest Army installations in the country, a rapidly growing residential economy, and a deep tradition of family-owned small businesses. The financing needs here are different from those of a business in Dallas or Houston — cross-border trade, government contract cycles, military spouse entrepreneurship, and rural USDA eligibility all shape how El Paso businesses access capital.

We built Franklin Funding specifically for this market.

What We Do

We help El Paso business owners navigate the business lending landscape — identifying the right loan product, the right lender, and the right timing for their specific situation. Most business owners don't know the difference between an SBA 7(a) and an SBA 504, or when invoice factoring makes more sense than a line of credit, or what a DSCR covenant means in their loan agreement. That's what we're here for.

What Franklin Funding Helps With

  • SBA loans: 7(a), 504, CAPLines, Microloan, Veterans Advantage — identifying the right program and matching with approved lenders
  • Equipment financing: Same-day decisions on trucks, machinery, medical equipment, and commercial vehicles
  • Invoice factoring & ABL: Receivables-based working capital for trucking, contractors, staffing, and manufacturing
  • Working capital: Business lines of credit, TSBCI bank loans, and short-term working capital solutions
  • Acquisition financing: SBA 7(a) for buying existing El Paso businesses — goodwill, equipment, and working capital in one loan
  • Special programs: Veteran Advantage, WOSB/EDWOSB certification guidance, USDA B&I for rural businesses

How the Broker Model Works

As a commercial finance broker, Franklin Funding does not lend money directly. Instead, we maintain relationships with a network of SBA-approved lenders, CDFI intermediaries, equipment finance companies, factoring firms, and conventional banks. When you come to us with a financing need, we:

  1. Assess your business's financing profile — revenue, time in business, credit, collateral, and use of funds
  2. Identify the loan products and lenders most likely to approve your specific situation
  3. Help you prepare a strong application package — financial statements, business plan, projections
  4. Submit your application to the most appropriate lender(s) and manage the process to closing

Lenders pay us a referral fee at closing — you do not pay us directly for our matching service. Our interests are aligned with yours: we only get paid when you get funded, so we only put forward deals we believe will close.

Why El Paso

El Paso is underserved by the national commercial finance industry. Most online lenders and broker platforms are built for markets with dense banking infrastructure — they don't understand the Fort Bliss payment cycle, the Juárez maquiladora supply chain, the Lower Valley agricultural economy, or the unique financing needs of businesses serving TRICARE and Medicaid populations at the intersection of military and border health. We do.

We live and work in this community. We've helped El Paso trucking companies bridge freight invoice gaps, childcare centers navigate Texas CCDF subsidy timing, veteran entrepreneurs access Boots to Business training and SBA Veteran Advantage fee reductions, and construction contractors manage Fort Bliss payment lag with invoice factoring. Every article in our resource library is written for El Paso business owners — not a generic national audience.

Our Commitment to Transparency

The commercial finance industry has a history of opaque pricing, predatory merchant cash advance products, and brokers who push high-commission products regardless of fit. We take a different approach:

  • We explain the true cost of every product — APR, factor rate, total payback — not just the monthly payment
  • We flag when a merchant cash advance is the wrong choice and a better option exists
  • We don't stack debt — we won't help you layer a second MCA on top of an existing one
  • Our educational content is designed to make you a more informed borrower, not a less informed one

If you're not ready to borrow — if your credit needs work, your time in business is too short, or your DSCR won't support the payment — we'll tell you that directly, along with a plan to get you there.
